Pryor out, McGloin starting Sunday  (by Steve Corkran, Bay Area News Group)… The Raiders declared quarterback Terrelle Pryor out for the Houston Texans game, which cleared the way for undrafted rookie Matt McGloin to make his first NFL regular-season start.  Pryor still is hobbled from the MCL sprain in his right knee that he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 3. He played against the New York Giants last Sunday but was limited in his movement and effectiveness.  (read more)

Official: Pryor out, McGloin to start Sunday  (by Scott Bair, CSN Bay Area)… McGloin is well prepped for Sunday’s game. He took all the first-team reps on Wednesday and Friday. He split them on Thursday. He feels confident in his ability to lead the offense and guide the Raiders to victory.  “It was great getting reps this week,” McGloin said. “You see things differently when you¹re in the middle of everything. The mental preparation is always there, and I’m glad I was able to support that with some physical prep this week. I focused each and every day. I thought the entire unit looked good this week. Injured Raiders QB Pryor to miss game vs Houston  (by Josh Dubow, Associated Press)… “What can you say about Matt McGloin? Having been in that league, I know it takes a smart guy, it takes a competitive guy, it takes a guy that does the same thing every day,” said Penn State coach Bill O’Brien, the former offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.  “He works at it. He’s in the office early, he leaves late. That’s what Matt is. Everything Matt gets, he deserves because he works for it. It’s going to be fun to watch him play.”  (read more)

Raiders Sign QB Tyler Wilson to Active Roster  (Raiders.com)… The Oakland Raiders have signed QB Tyler Wilson to the active roster, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Saturday.  (read more)

Raiders promote QB Wilson from practice squad  (by Paul Gutierrez, ESPN)… Wilson, meanwhile, was the Raiders’ fourth-round draft choice out of Arkansas — Oakland traded back in the round after the Eagles moved in front of the Raiders to select USC’s Matt Barkley. Wilson was cut at the end of training camp. When no one else picked him up, Wilson was signed to the practice squad.  (read more)

Texans look to end skid against Raiders  (by Kristie Rieken, Associated Press)… Quarterback Matt Schaub had a terrible start to the season and was benched after an injury in favor of undrafted second-year player Case Keenum.  Keenum has done some good things in his first three NFL games after spending all of last season on the practice squad following a record-setting career at the University of Houston. But he’s been unable to move the offense in the second half of any of his starts as the Texans’ losing streak outlasted the two six-game streaks the team had during its franchise-worst 2-14 season in 2005.  (read more)

Texans, former Presidents to continue Military Week festivities Sunday  (by John McClain, Houston Chronicle Blog)… The Texans’ Salute to the Military Week continues with the Salute to the Military Day on Sunday when they host the Oakland Raiders at Reliant Stadium.  The highlight of the week-long festivities will be presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush leading the Texans out of the tunnel before the game and serving as honorary captains.  (read more)
