Raiders not practicing today, hit the field again Wednesday  (by Steve Corkran, Bay Area News Group)… The Raiders spent the first part of Monday in meetings, while head coach Dennis Allen and his staff kicked into overdrive their preparation for their team’s game against the New York Jets.  The players received Friday, Saturday and Sunday off after they returned from Dallas on Thursday night and a game against the Dallas Cowboys. Dennis Allen says the Raiders are looking to use Terrelle Pryor going forward (Bucher & Towny, 95.7 FM)… The Raiders Head Coach discussed how the team has to prepare for going back to the east coast, and what he expects from his QB’s the rest of the way.  (listen to interview) 

Raiders making most of their players’ talents  (by Steve Corkran, Bay Area News Group)… When faulting the Raiders for squandering five second-half leads this season or failing to blow out any teams, perhaps it bears taking into account what coach Dennis Allen has at his disposal. (read more)

Undrafted receivers holding up well for Raiders  (by Michael Wagaman, Associated Press)… Rod Streater and Andre Holmes are perfect examples of how things have changed with the Oakland Raiders in the post-Al Davis era.   Though both are fairly swift on the field, neither of the two wide receivers is particularly fast, a trait Davis always favored in his players. Streater and Holmes are also more possession-type receivers who are better on the sideline and crossing routes than they are at getting deep. (read more)

Jared Veldheer says the Raiders are in talks on an extension  (by John Lund & Greg Papa, 95.7 FM)… The Raiders LT talked about how it felt to be back on the field on Thanksgiving, and how he thought about Matt McGloin as the Raiders QB. (listen)

Jared Veldheer holds up in the trenches  (by Paul Gutierrez, ESPN)… The rust that inhabited Oakland Raiders left tackle Jared Veldheer last week against the Dallas Cowboys as he made his season debut was cancelled out by how physically fresh he felt in the Thanksgiving Day game. And Monday, he was pleasantly surprised there was no “next-day” soreness associated with his surgically-repaired left triceps. (read more)

Marcel Reece says the team just isn’t finishing  (The Rise Guys, 95.7 FM)… The Raiders FB says the offense needs to do their job and keep putting up points. He says the season has been disappointing for the team and talks about the outlook for the final four games this season. (listen)

Raiders promise to stay committed down home stretch  (by Scott Bair, CSN Bay Area)… The franchise has precious little to play for these final four games, though head coach Dennis Allen hopes to takes something from these contests, to see his team evolve and improve and learn how to finish.  That could be difficult, considering how many key players have expiring contracts. Will the players stay engaged? Will they keep fighting for the Silver and Black? Allen has no doubt. (read more or watch video report)

Raiders at Jets At-A-Glance  (Raiders.com)… The Oakland Raiders battle the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is set for Sunday, December 8, on CBS.  The Raiders lead the all-time series, 20-15-2. The Raiders have won two of the last three meetings including a 34-24 victory in Oakland in 2011.  (read more)

Geno Smith keeps starting job  (by Rich Cimini, ESPN)… Quarterback Geno Smith hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since before Halloween, but he will continue as the New York Jets’ starter. “As of right now, he’s our best shot, in my opinion,” coach Rex Ryan said Monday, explaining his decision to stick with the slumping rookie after benching him Sunday at halftime. Rex: Cribbs injury is ‘pretty serious’  (by Matt Ehalt, ESPN)… New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan believes receiver/returner Josh Cribbs suffered a “pretty bad” injury in Sunday’s 23-3 loss to the Miami Dolphins, which could signal Cribbs’ season is over. (read more)

Jets’ Jeremy Kerley expects return from elbow injury against Raiders  (by Micheal J. Fensom, New Jersey Star-Ledger)… eremy Kerley, the Jets’ leading pass catcher in yards and receptions, said today that he will return to the lineup Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. Since dislocating his left elbow on Nov. 3 against the New Orleans Saints, the wide receiver has missed three consecutive games, all Jets losses. (read more)

A look ahead to Raiders’ 2014 opponents  (by Paul Gutierrez, ESPN)… First, we already know the Raiders’ opponents next season. They will have home games against the Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos, as well as the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, the AFC South team that finishes in the same place in its division as the Raiders do in the AFC West (right now, that would be the Houston Texans) and the Dolphins (in London).   (read more)

Raiders fan attracts national spotlight for exotic costume  (The Bakersfield Californian)… There are Oakland Raiders fans, and then there are Raiders fans like Andrea Sedano of Bakersfield.  Sedano’s hardcore love of the Raiders is so extreme it’s landed her in the pages of ESPN The Magazine.
